Township Trail

IMPORTANT REMINDER: CANNON TOWNSHIP'S NON-MOTORIZED ORDINANCE APPLIES TO ALL TRAILS IN THE TOWNSHIP.  See related documents below to view the ordinance.

The main portion of the Cannon Township Trail is four miles long. It runs from the parking lot at Cannon Township Center to Townsend Park. In 2010, the trail was extended north along Myers Lake Avenue by the construction of an eight-foot wide sidewalk partially paid for through a grant from the Michigan Department of Energy. This sidewalk also runs to the west along Belding Road to Lake Bella Vista Drive.

Another trail segment runs along Belding Road on the south side of Bostwick Lake. This segment informally connects to other walking trails around the lake.  In 2014, trail construction through an easement on two properties on the north side of the lake allows the public to travel from Davies Drive to Northport Drive.

Cannon Township approved a partnership with the West Michigan Chapter of the Michigan Mountain Biking Association. We constructed a mountain bike trail approximately a mile long on the property at the Township Center. Here's a link to the design.
