ZONING ORDINANCE
The State of Michigan delegates the authority to regulate land uses through the state legislature, and specifically the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act of 2006. The zoning ordinance regulates land use, and is based on the Cannon Township Master Plan, adopted persuant to the Michigan Planning Enabling Act of 2008.
GENERAL ORDINANCE
The general (or regulatory) ordinance has police power, and regulates activity in the township, in an effort to protect public health, safety and general welfare of persons and property.
