Professional Background

Kim was first elected Cannon Township Treasurer in November of 2016.  Prior to that she was the City of Rockford's Treasurer from 1996 until her retirement in June of 2016.  While at the City of Rockford she was responsible for Tax Collection and Disbursements, Payables, Receivables, Payroll, Benefits, Cash Receipting, and Daily Deposits.  In addition, she was the Library liaison, the Chamber of Commerce liaison, Events Coordinator and the Farm Market Master.  Rockford's Farm Market was voted America's Favorite Small Farmers Market in 2011.

Kim has served as the Chairperson of the Kent County Treasurer's Association, and also served seven years on the Michigan Municipal Treasurer's Association, including President in 2011-2012.  Also in 2012, she was honored with the presentation of the PRIME (Professional Recognition in Municipal Excellence) Award from the MMTA.  


Kim has been married to Mike since 1977 and they have two daughters and four granddaughters.  She has lived in Cannon Township since 1988.  She received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Grand Rapids Community College.
